| Another Approach is a progressive metal band based in Winterthur, Switzerland. Their music is defined by reconciled opposites: quiet instrumental parts lead into hard hitting breakdowns, slow and intimate vocal passages give way to fast-paced, screeching guitar-solos and atmospheric synthesizer sounds set up catchy melodies. The sound lives from the contrasts produced by juxtaposing these devices as well as the tension created by the struggle to keep them from falling apart. Their style knows few boundaries, often drawing from different genres such as Jazz and Blues. This allows for differentiated, colourful and at times humorous storytelling that is not only manifested in the lyrics of their songs, but also in their structure. | Kurz etwas zu unserem Sound: Unsere Musik definiert sich durch vereinigte Gegensätze; Ruhige Instrumentalteile leiten harte Breakdowns ein, auf langsame und intime Gesangspassagen folgen schnelle, kreischende Gitarren-Solos und atmosphärische Synthesizer Klänge werden in eingängige Melodien übergeleitet. Der Sound lebt von den Kontrasten und Spannungen, die durch die Gegenüberstellungen dieser Stilmittel erzeugt werden. Unser Stil kennt nur wenige Grenzen und bezieht oft auch andere Genres wie Jazz oder Blues mit ein. Dies erlaubt es uns, Geschichten auf eine differenzierte, farbenreiche und zum Teil humorvolle Weise zu erzählen, und zwar nicht nur durch die Texte, sondern auch durch die Struktur der Lieder.
