| Carmel Zoum: Ihr ganz eigener Dancehall-Sound liegt irgendwo zwischen Dubstep, Drum and Bass, Electro und Trap. Am Mikrofon eine flammende Naturgewalt walzt sie mit ihrem vielschichtigen Sound, einer eindrucksvollen Stimme alles nieder. Die Sängerin und Produzentin aus Kongo und Frankreich lebt heute schon seit vielen Jahren in Deutschland, davon acht in Berlin. Sie sang im Vorprogramm der Band Culcha Candela, war auf Tour mit den Irie Révoltés, veröffentlichte zahlreiche Kooperationen, bis 2015 ihr Debütalbum „Skwamat“ erschien. Dass sich die Sängerin keinen musikalischen Stempel aufdrücken lässt und sie mit ihren Songs viel mehr möchte, als einfach nur ihr Publikum zum Tanzen zu bringen, zeigt sich in unserem Gespräch. Based in Berlin, Carmel Zoum is mainly known as a dancehall reggae artist, but also works with hip hop, electronic and bass producers. |
