HOLiDAY ON iO is a music group based on Nordic music traditions, leaping into modern compositions and experimental arrangements. It is one of the most creative, dynamic and innovative up-and-coming bands in the contemporary Swedish and Scandinavian folk music scene.
HOLiDAY ON iO is a true crossover project, spanning everything from different kinds of traditional music to jazz, blues, pop, progressive rock, electro-acoustic music and classical compositions. Through various methods of creation, the quartet tries to achieve a sound that has a mindset of its own, aiming to find the best mix of features from the different genres and personalities of the band members. In this pot of different inspirations and impressions, there is one style of music that got the band members together and which continues to be source of great inspiration: the Nordic folk music tradition has a wide variety of sounds and colors and a rich treasure of melodies and atmospheres that really intrigue the members of the band. They use it as a ground to compose their own original material and to generate their soundscapes.
