Alhousseini Anivolla ANEWAL/The walking man on tour 2015 Worldclass guitar performances, singing, dance, traditional instruments and amazing outfits. Solo or together with his two musicians Alhousseini Anivolla presents a magic mixture for ears, eyes and soul to promote the rich music of the Tamashek people of the Saharan desert. Alhousseini Mohamed Anivolla is lead guitarist and singer of the famous desert blues band Etran Finatawa. Since 2004 constantly touring around the world, Alhousseini has been performing so far in 45 countries all around the globe. Goes solo… Very much inspired by his touring, all the different recording and jammings he decided in 2011 to start next to his work with Etran Finatawa a solo career. The result is his internationally acclaimed solo album “Anewal” (World Music Network). Anewal “The walking man” is Alhousseini´s diary of his personal journey from the desert to the city to the world stage and back again. “It’s got everything that fans of this stuff have been devouring ever since desert blues went global: hypnotic two-chord jams, trance-inducing beats, biting blues-infused guitar and in Anivolla’s case, warmly laid-back vocals sung in his local vernacular. Anivolla is an incisive and remarkably subtle guitarist, varying his attack on the strings, adding minute levels of natural distortion, his incisive, blues-infused phrases ringing out over long, swaying vamps.” (New York Music Daily; Aug 2012) |
