In 2009 a one day one night one stage festival made an extraordinary debut in the heart of the Yorkshire countryside.

The legendary Sven Vath and Shane Graham, the mastermind behind the Mint brand and the influential Leeds night System, had been out and about somewhere. They had a moment, a big idea - a vision. The next morning, in the cold light of day, the vision was somehow still there and it had bells on. Cocoon in the Park was born.

In 2009 Sven, Luciano and Steve Bug performed on this famous stage nestled between the trees in the fabulous grounds of Temple Newsam. Ricardo Villalobos, Richie Hawtin, Loco Dice, Dixon, Adam Beyer, Cassy, The Martinez Brothers amongst the many who followed.
