The nearest airport to the island of Hvar is Split. Germanwings has direct flights from many cities in Germany. Next closest airport is Dubrovnik with Easyjet direct flights from many cities all over Europe.

It is possible to fly to Croatia’s capital, Zagreb, or other major cities such as Rijeka, Ljubljana, Pula or Trieste, and then drive through to Split from there. Venice and Dubrovnik are additional options.

BY BUS

BY TRAIN
There are serval ways to travel by train. Trains run through Zagreb and from there you can find frequent connections to Split.

BY CAR
From Germany and Austria over Salzburg, Graz, Spielfeld (Slovenia) and cross the border at Sentilij/Maribor via Zagreb over Karlovac to Split.
From Switzerland you drive through Milano (Italy), Bergamo to Trieste. From there you cross the border at Koper (Slovenia) then over Riejka, Zadar to Split.

REMEMBER: You need to get the ferry from Split to STARI GRAD. You should calculate that you arrive around 6pm in Split. Last ferry to STARI GRAD at 8.30pm.
